President’s Circle Award: Virgil Koehne!
The Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce honored it’s finest citizens last night at the annual State of the Town Banquet.
Mike Guzzardo won the honor of Citizen of the Year, due largely to his work protecting the Delta and Discovery Bay, opposing the Delta Two Gates Project and proposed conveyance system, and also for his continued organization of the Paddle for Fame event. The Citizen of the Year title means that Guzzardo will be the Grand Marshal of the 2011 Parade-of-Lights.
Rick Pierce and Pierce Chiropractic Group was presented with the Business of the Year title, along with thanks for his work in the community – including the Parade of Lights, and support of local athletes.
Virgil Koehne was surprised with the prestigious President’s Circle Award, which is very much a lifetime achievement type award.
