Discovery Bay broke it’s own World Record Saturday, June 25th, for the largest raft-up of man-powered vessels. The unofficial count is 492, and this number is expected to be certified Monday morning. This beats last year’s record by more than 100 paddlers!
In all, more than 1,000 people were involved in the attempt, with many paddleboats and rafts holding 2-4 people (or more!)
Photographer Leila Hauck was carried by leadship pilot Bryon Graves, along with pilots Dave & Trina Anderson, and Barry Weber. Thanks for the air show!
Special thank you’s to the sponsors who make this event possible: 94505.com, Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce, Boardwalk Grill, Marples & Associates, Captain Morgan’s Delta Adventures houseboat, Discovery Bay Harbormaster, REI, LightWave Mobile, John Muir Medical Center, Hanna SUP, Sutter Delta First Aid Tent, ACS Marine, Golden Photography, A-1 Chem Dry, Discovery Bay Paddleboards, Discovery Bay Yacht Club and, of course… the Delta Sun Times.
Congratulations, Discovery Bay!
