The annual Discovery Bay Yacht Club (DBYC) Opening Day Parade will wind through the bays on April 21st.  The Parade starts at Lighthouse Bay at 1:00 PM, and will wind through bays until it reaches the Discovery BayYacht Harbor at approximately 3:00 – 4:00 PM.

The boat decorating theme this year is “All American,” so expect everything from hot dogs and baseball, to US flags… anything All American may appear as a decorated boat-float.

There are two new “twists” this year…

First, there will be a community Open House (3-7pm) at Discovery Bay Yacht Club beginning with the docking of the boats and ending at 7:00 p.m.  Food and refreshments will be available at a nominal cost.

Second, homes having dock parties can be judged from the boats if they wish.  There will be prizes for the “Most Enthusiastic Party” and one for the “Most Patriotic Decorations”.  Simply hold up a sign with your name and address in order enter the competition. Or, contact Erlyn Lucas-Payne on facebook with your address.

Boaters who wish to enter the parade can contact the coordinators at loveland3@sbcglobal.net  or by phone at 925.516.7286.
