(THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8) – The race for two openings on the Byron Union School District Board of Trustees is not yet final. Why? All three candidates are in a close race, with McBride and Green only 37 votes apart – and there are an estimated 400 provisional and drop-off ballots still to count. Incumbent Ken Silman leads the race with an additional 267 votes, and is expected to remain the leader.
Greene and McBride await the final count, which the Contra Costa County Elections Department stated today could take weeks. The county legally has 28 days to certify the election, and have in excess of 100,000 votes still to count.
