movies in the park graphic     Enjoy free evenings out with friends and neighbors at Free Friday Films, starting July 19.  Films will be shown each Friday night for eight weeks at the Discovery Bay Community Center picnic area. All films are rated PG, and a variety of films were selected to appeal to all age groups.

The film schedule starts with Jumanji (July 19) and other films will include Megamind, Groundhog Day, Wall-E, The Sandlot, Star Wars, The Sound of Music, and Airplane! (the only Adults-only-night).

Two food truck vendors will be available for both movie goers and the public, Lumpy’s Diner Express and Pizza Pirate Wagon. Other vendors will be on hand with popcorn and other fun items for movie-goers.

The movie night provides an opportunity for the community to visit the grounds of the new community center, which features tennis courts, swimming pool (opening July 22), and barbecue picnic area available for public and private functions.

Gates will open at 7:00 PM, and movies will start at sundown. Parking is available at the Community Center 1601 Discovery Bay Boulevard.

*Free Friday Films is presented by the Delta Sun Times, DiscoBratz and the Town of Discovery Bay Community Center.  Film schedule is subject to change.  Look for the complete schedule in the July 15 edition of the Delta Sun Times.
