Debbie Burnett Debbie Burnette, is BUSD’s new superintendent. “I would like to introduce myself as the new Byron School District superintendent. I will be at all of the Back to School Nights as well as the first Principal coffees of the new school year.”

Debbie Burnette replaces superintendent Ken Jacopetti who, along with Discovery Bay School principal Danielle Storey, has taken a position with the Vacaville School District.

Burnette comes to the BUSD from her role as Assistant Superintenden for the Millbrae School District. “It was a great job, but I live in Knightsen and have always wanted to work with the Byron Union School Dirstrict,” says Burnette, who has two adult children and keeps horses she is hoping to find more time to ride now that she no longer has a commute to work.

Said Burnette: “I am excited about the new administration staff at all three schools, and about undertaking to role of transitioning our schools to the new Common Core State Standards our district will face in the years ahead. I look forward to meeting all of our district families and teachers.”
