sandlot   Friday, August 23rd, Discovery Bay Free Friday Films will present “The Sandlot” Rated PG. 

A full-house is expected for this movie in the park.  Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy a night under the stars for this wonderful family film.  Free face painting will be available and fun, baseball-themed activites will take place starting at 7:30.

Story: Scotty Smalls moves to a new neighborhood with his mom and stepdad, and wants to learn to play baseball. The neighborhood baseball guru Rodriquez takes Smalls under his wing, and soon he’s part of the local baseball buddies. They fall into adventures involving baseball, treehouse sleep-ins, the desirous lifeguard at the local pool, the snooty rival ball team, and the travelling fair. Beyond the fence at the back of the sandlot menaces a legendary ball-eating dog called The Beast, and the kids inevitably must deal with him.

Bring a pincinc basket, or the Pizza Pirate Wagon will be available serving hamburgers, tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, snow cones, and pizza.
