Discovery Bay Burglaries & Crime Watch Newsletter

The Office of the Sheriff would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
This year, the Sheriff has placed a toy barrel at the Boardwalk Grill for their annual toy drive for local children.  There will also be a barrel at the December 7 Discovery Bay Tree Lighting Ceremony.  They are accepting any unwrapped new toys for children 12 and under.

In the month of October, Discovery Bay had four residential burglaries reported to the sheriff’s office.  In three reported cases forced entry was made through a side garage door or rear sliding glass door and one entry was made through a side garage window left unlocked.  None of the homes burglarized had an alarm system.

Total approximate value of stolen property is estimated at $48,000.00 dollars with damage for all four burglaries
estimated at $1,500 dollars.

  1. We had a laptop and tools stolen out of our locked truck. The thieves punched out the lock and opened the door. It was in the sportsbar parking lot. A surveillance camera would probably deter thefts or at least help catch criminals
