DISCOVERY BAY, CA   – Nominees have been selected! The 2013 Business of the Year and 2013 Citizen of the Year will be announced on January 18, 2014 at the much-anticipated Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce State of the Town Gala dinner and auction at the Discovery Bay Country Club.

Nominees for 2013 Business of the Year are: Boardwalk Grill, Captain Morgan’s Delta Adventures, Discovery Bay Locks, Elite Home Inspection, Kaleidoscope, Marples and Associates, Pierce Chiropractic and Rita Caruso, RPM Mortgage. The distinguished honors are awarded each year to a local business or organization in the community who has demonstrated outstanding business acumen.

Nominees for 2013 Citizen of the Year are: Darla Cavallaro, Amanda Dove, Brittany Koehne, Robert Lyman, Cathie Marples, Jan McCleery, Jan Page and Ed and Jean Stewart.  The recipient of this award must be a resident of Discovery Bay who has performed meritorious service above and beyond that which would be expected of a citizen.

The Teacher of the Year is also honored and is chosen by the Byron Unified School District administration.
