triathalon

The Discovery Bay Lions and Delta Valley Athletic Club are excited to have their first Triathlon right here in Discovery Bay coming up this Sunday, May 4th.

“We have been thinking of another event to have in DB and a triathlon seems like a natural fit with all three elements right in our back yard” said Jim Mattison with the Lions club. There will be a Sprint for beginners and an Olympic race for the more seasoned athletes. Not sure if you can do all three legs by yourself ? No problem, there will be a relay as well so grab two of your friends and each of you can either do the swim, bike or run.

Want to be part of the action ?

You have several choices as you can be a participant, be a volunteer or simply watch the action from the Cruise boat, The Rosemarie,  55 ft. houseboat with all the amenities.

PARTICIPATE!   Want to be a participant in the race? Go to http://discoverybaylions.org/triathlon  for all the info as they are taking the first 250 people. This will be a fun packed day with a lot of action. The triathalon organizers are still looking for many volunteers to help with this big event. Help is needed with every aspect of the race so please call volunteer coordinator Chris Fagnani at 925.525.1406 for all the details.

CRUISE!  The first  cruise will start at 7:30 AM as you stroll out in the bay to watch all the swimmers in action for the first hour and then take another hour cruise to see the delta. What other triathlon offers this view ? The second cruise will begin at 1:00 PM. This will be a three hour cruise in the beautiful Delta with a full no host bar on board.
