The Discovery Bay Splashers, the non-profit offshoot of the Discovery Bay Yacht Club, presented a $4,500 check to Shepherds Gate women’s shelter Monday.
Shepherd’s Gate has two campuses, one in Brentwood and one in Livermore. These homes are a safe haven, providing long-term, comprehensive care to some of California’s most vulnerable people: women and children experiencing homelessness due to poverty, addiction, domestic violence, and other threats.
Organizer, Karen Matteucci, explained the Splasher’s mission: “The Splasher’s raise funds for local charities throughout the year through events like last weekend’s Holiday Boutique, and the upcoming Holiday Home Tour.”
