Tea Time in Discovery Bay

Attendees of the Discovery Bay Victorian Tea were transported in time from March 12, 2016 back into the 1800’s, when the Victorian era of tea parties boasted ladies with fine manners and fine attire.

The event, hosted by the Discovery Bay Yacht Club Splasher’s, the club’s charitable arm, raised thousand of dollars for the organization and Kaleidoscope Cancer Connection. Participants dressed for the the occasion, decorated elaborate tables, and noshed upon afternoon tea samplings while enjoying harp music of the era.

Organizer, Maggie Hall, was pleased with the large turnout and enthusiasm of the participants. “All of the tables were decorated beautifully and made the day a wonderful affair. All of the ladies outfits and hats were lovely but some of the Victorian era costumes were truly dazzling. There was also an Alice in Wonderland tea party table. Their table decorations and costumes were over the top and great fun. Thanks to all who attended and all of the volunteers behind the scenes who worked to make this fund raiser a success.”
