Nominations Wanted! Senior/Student/Hero of the Year   

Do you know a special senior citizen or student that deserves recognition?  Someone who inspires you to be “better”?  The Delta Leos Club is seeking to honor these remarkable people at their Awards event, Sunday, May 2nd in Discovery Bay. 

You might nominate someone for their outstanding service to another/others, or perhaps for their inspiring personal achievement, or for overcoming a great obstacle. There is room for you to explain why this person inspires you on the short, online nomination form.

Senior Citizen of the Year & Hometown Hero Awards: Senior Citizen of the Year Nominees may be anyone age 65+; Hometown Hero Nominees may be any front-line health care/essential service worker or first-responder.  Winners will be selected from Nominations received in each of these communities:

  • Bethel Island
  • Brentwood
  • Byron
  • Discovery Bay
  • Knightsen
  • Oakley

Student Citizen of the Year Awards: Winners will be selected from Nominations received in each of these communities, and in each of these age-based* categories:

  • Elementary School
  • Middle School
  • High School
  • College / Vocational / ROTC / Military Student  (must be both enrolled and living full-time in named community)

*These are age-based categories, and nominations for students in alternative learning formats are welcome.
