DISCOVERY BAY SAFEWAY, 14850 HIGHWAY 4
RALLY TO STOP CRIME & SAVE MARIA TONIGHT AT 6 PM

Hundreds of Discovery Bay community members will rally at the Discovery Bay Safeway at 6:00 PM tonight to try and stop a wrong to one of their own.

One of Discovery Bay’s most well-known moms and Safeway cashier, Maria Chapelle, stood up against shoplifting crime in this small town and may lose her job just days before Christmas.

Some men in the community have committed to staffing the Discovery Bay Safeway OUTSIDE to grab shoplifters and return items to shelves.

One of Discovery Bay’s most loved moms – a DB Safeway cashier known to most families in our small town – held the cart of a person attempting to to steal $600 worth of groceries. Yesterday, after 20 years on the job, she is suspended and will likely be fired, 3 days before Christmas. FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING.

With supply chain shortages, many customers are already looking at half empty shelves and this person was going to take what little there is. Enough is enough. Maria stood up for the needs of this community. Now, the community will stand up for Maria and for all people doing the right thing!

Hundreds of community members have already called Safeway corporate and will also rally tonight with the Discovery Bay Safeway crew in solidarity for Maria. Others are committed to staffing the Discovery Bay Safeway OUTSIDE to grab shoplifters and return items to shelves. stand up for Maria and all people doing the right thing!

Signs are encouraged to put an END to the shoplifting crisis in Discovery Bay that drives everyone’s prices higher. Meet at the right entrance to Safeway, where most carts are rolled out without being stopped.
