“Come One, Come All!”  The Discovery Bay Yacht Club is encouraging the entire community to participate in their annual Opening Day Boat Parade, April 9th, 2022.

The 2022 Opening Day Boat Parade focus is ‘Celebrating Boating and the Discovery Bay Community’, and parade participation is open to the general public! “If you have a boat, assemble your crew, register, and join the parade!” said DBYC Rear Commodore, Roger Boaz.

Parade participants are not required to decorate their vessels, but there will be prizes for the most enthusiastic boat.

The parade will begin at 12:30 pm after the Blessing of the Fleet. Event participants will assemble in their boats on Kellogg creek just off the point of Newport Lane and, once under way, will follow the parade route as it winds it’s way through every-other-bay and concludes in Marina Bay (just beyond “F” dock near the marina).

The community enjoys this annual event, brought to them free of charge, thanks to the DBYC. Participating boaters and their guests are invited to come to the Yacht Club following the parade for awards, drinks and food.

To dock your boat following the parade at the Yacht Club, request a slip assignment from DBYC Port Captain, Mike McNamee (925) 382-8598.
